Civil and family court filings in Tarrant County have remained relatively stable during the seven full calendar year period the Texas Office of Court Administration (OCA) started compiling data from district and county clerks in its current form: card.txcourts.gov/default.aspx. These graphs are captured from a website (www.CourtStatPack.com) we created to interactively display that data in easily customizable charts.
New civil and family filings are relatively stable over the OCA reporting period with a slight uptick in family filings.


The composition of the civil docket is largely consumer, civil related to criminal, and tax matters. Divorce with and without children leads the family docket.


Judgments on jury verdicts have increased slightly in civil matters and are off the high during the OCA period. Verdicts are relatively stable in family actions, where they remain low.


79.7% of judgments on jury verdicts are in motor vehicle and other injury cases with consumer cases accounting for 7.6%. Most family verdicts are in CPS cases.


The summary judgment grant rate has declined in civil cases, but that decline has recovered somewhat recently. Summary judgments in family cases have become nonexistent.


66.4% of all civil summary judgment dispositions are in debt (consumer) cases.
