Donald Philbin, a dispute resolution expert, showed me the latest version of the Picture It Settled website featuring the Settlement Prophet. The Settlement Profit is a web-based application that analyzes settlement information from real cases and, using probabilistic scenarios, pictures it for you to map out your own settlement plan based on the type of case and jurisdiction. Although I thought it was easy to use when it debuted at LTNY 2013, the visualization tool is now even easier and faster to step through the negotiation process with a plan toward a target settlement. Philbin was also touting a case study showing how Picture It Settled helped Rackspace US Inc. settle a “longshot.”
