LexisNexis Legal & Professional has acquired Reston, Va.-based Moreover Technologies Inc., which aggregates, monitors and distributes news and social media content.
Moreover’s offerings include Newsdesk, which provides media monitoring, market research and news sharing. The company supplies multilingual news to global customers via two application programming interfaces:

• Metabase delivers content in XML over HTTP.
• Search Engine Toolkit delivers search results in a rich site summary feed.

LexisNexis will integrate the new acquisition into its Business Insight Solutions unit and combine Moreover’s news services with LexisNexis’ licensed news content (e.g., legal research tools Lexis and Lexis Advance). In 2015 LexisNexis plans to release a new product called LexisNexis Newsdesk that will offer a suite of news, Web content, business information, social media and broadcast media.
