Research by UK-based legal directory The Legal 500 has found that over 50% of General Counsel (GC) believe AI will have some impact on their inhouse teams within five years.
However, around 7% still believed AI would have no impact at all, now or in the future. That said, if one factors in those who were unsure, then around 80% of GC believe there will be some impact from the use of AI.
Fundamentally, using applied AI for cognition, extraction and then transforming the data into meaningful insights will greatly increase the speed that work can be done at, in some cases reducing weeks of work to hours of work, while also saving plenty of money in an environment where procurement teams are pressing GC to show ‘value for money’ and prove they are utilising the most effective means to achieve an outcome.
