Want to make sure the clauses in your company’s latest contract measure up to current legal standards? Now, for in-house counsel, there’s a web portal for that.

The Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC), the global bar association for in-house counsel, has launched a new online Contracts Portal that provides in-house attorneys with tools to improve the quality of their contracts, and to assist them with contract management and negotiation.

One of the signature features of the portal, launched October 8, is the updated ACC Contract Advisor, which allows attorneys to digitally compare their contracts, clause by clause, to examples crowd-sourced from ACC’s member attorneys, flagging parts of the contract that have missing clauses or diverge from established language. “For someone who has to draft contracts, it’s the ultimate time saver,” Veta Richardson, president and CEO of ACC told CorpCounsel.com, explaining that the tool gives in-house attorneys the ability to “leverage the choices that other members make.”

Although the contract benchmarking tool is not new to the ACC website, its been given a substantial update for its inclusion in the new Contracts Portal. In the upgrade, Contract Advisor now has an expanded library of sample forms and policies from members, and a host of articles on contracts processes, as well as a feed of relevant education events, webcasts, and (coming soon) videos.
