About half of USAA customers who have opted to utilize the new biometric features on the company’s mobile banking application are age 35 or older.
That comes as a surprise to USAA exeuctive Rick Swenson, who told American Banker that he thought the demographic adopting biometrics — such as the use of fingerprint scans to secure data — would skew more towards millennials.
“It’s about half and half with the median age being 35,” he said of the 400,000 USAA customers who have opted to use biometrics.
