At this time of year

Of Peace on Earth

A message for the mediators

For what it’s worth

Our planet has many warriors

But peacemakers are few

Permit this humble courier

To say thanks for what you do

Conflict creates hardship, heartache, and toil

It often makes even the good hearted blood boil

It destroys families, relationships,and the joys of life

Conflict is cruel and cuts like a knife

Why anyone would put themselves right in the middle

Of anger and strife is quite the riddle

Yet that is what you do each and every day

And you do it for reasons other than pay

Perhaps the hope of better communication

Or the search for possible reconciiation

Regardless of religious or spiritual view

Mediators believe it’s the right thing to do

So for all the peace you give to others

Joy to you my sisters and brothers

Wishing you the very best cheer

Happy holidays to you and a peaceful new year
